You may ask yourself why do we need alternatives to big business. Maybe you already have a feeling and tendency to seek out small businesses, argue with yourself that it is about the quality of the products or the nicer experience when in contact with the people of that business. I was in exactly that situation, did not fully understand my feeling and did not have the vocabulary to address it, let alone share it with someone else so that he or she can also understand. A frustrating situation.
As I am an educator working with innovators and founders to be I know that everyone starts building their ideas into products and service with a huge enthusiasm and motivation to have an impact in the world, benefiting people and all of us, the common good.
As if there is an invisible force that turns thigs around over time. It felt like a black box, with people who come out on the other side now act differently and argue that. Some do not talk about their experiences in that black box at all. Luckily over time I found people who share their true stories with me.
I want to introduce you to Ariel Fabbro, founder of Cobbled Goods.
He wrote the following article which I am sending you to. I guarantee you that reading it will make you understand your belly feelings.
Before you go a reference from the article that stayed in my focus:
“The bigger a company grows, the greater the power imbalance between itself and the rest of society.”
